"Once the intake valves had gone down while turning the crank counter clockwise its time to look for the timing mark on the flywheel. The I mark will come up fast so go slow, also if you go past you will have to go all the way through the strokes again. Dont go clockwise."
I'm a little confused on this step can anyone explain it a little better. The rest i am fine with.

Hey there, valve adjustment is easy, just follow the steps like others have said.
About your question, when you have the two little covers off you you can put a socket on the main nut, move it counter clockwise with a breaker bar very slowly and you'll notice a small line or "nick" in it, you have to align it with another little nick/line that is rotating in the smaller hole, make sure they line up perfectly, once you're done that you can pull the caps off and adjust the valves.

When I start up my raptor it smokes a little. When i rode it today it didn't seem to pull as hard. I just changed the oil and oil filter beforehand. I was wondering if there was a problem or if i was just getting used to the power. I didn't seem to pull a wheelie as easily. I don't know if this would make a difference but I haven't ridden my quad in a while and it was the first time i rode it with mx boots. I get paranoid if everything is not right. DO any of ur quads smoke wen u start them up and is there anything i should check?

hey guys a little update. I tried doing the valves today with my friend was pretty easy but only made one mistake. When we were adjusting the valves we made them a little to loose. "let the feeler gauge slide in with little resistance" Anyway they were a little too loose and started tapping so tomarrow were goin to go at it again. It was really pretty easy tho. I would advise anyone to do it as long as they stay organized and have some knowledge. I was a little dissapointed that i didn't get it the first time but i learn int he process. Tomarrow ill get it done faster with my friend. Gotta make the valves a little tighter. Sucks because we put all the plastic back on.
