So, the YFZ450 should be run with the headlights on when just cruising around in the low gears where the electric fan turns on? I heard that in order for the YFZ450 to charge is to turn on the headlights during the slow riding? How slow of a slow riding? Thanks!!!

MarkFiddling, the charging problem is only on the 04 models, and Yamaha sells a kit to simulate the lights being on if you have an 04 and want to remove them. Not sure why warriorguy22's fan doesn't come on with the lights on, it should work independently of the lights. Actually, it should be dependent on coolant temps as to when it is on or off.

So, do you think the problem is fixed for the 2006 YFZ450's?

The problem is on the 05 model too.Hopefully they fixed it on the 06 but I wouldn't bet on it.
