When is jetting necessary?
#2
Jetting is neccessary any time that your quad doens't run to its full potential due to the air/fuel problems. If it sputters at all, in any range of rpm's......then you can change something in the carb to fix it.....to run better.
Generally, assuming your quad is already jetted correctly, you need to rejet when you open(add more flow) to the exhaust or intake(fuel and air) systems.........
The quad is not neccessarily jetted appropriately from the factory, generally they are a bit on the rich side.....to be safe.
To check if you quad is jetted correctly:
Put in new spark plug(helps...but not neccessary)......go out and ride for a bit(not slow)......and then hammer on it and run it full throttle for a good amount of time, and then immeadiately shut it off(with no idle)......check the plug.......if jetted correctly, should be paper bag brown down in the plug.......if black, you need to go down in jets.......if white......more fuel(up in jets)......

Yes you should definately rejet......but I would run it once, and do the test I told you to do......and see if you need to actually rejet......
I'm not sure on what your bike is.......but if it is a raptor, I think they come a little rich from the factory, so you might not need to rejet.
You bike shouldn't run any hotter, if anything it might run cooler(getting rid of exhaust quicker with less restrictive exhaust)

the coolant light, i have been trying to figure out if anyone has had the same problem with the 700. When you re-jet do they show you how to do it. Dont mean to sound stupid, but does it come with directions
