wolverine carbs. educate me

My understanding is that the 95 and 96 had a 36mm carb that was essentially the same as the warrior. Because throttle response was a little less than desired they went to a 34 mm after that. Is that correct? Also, i sthe 34mm the same type as the 36mm, only a different size? Do they mount to the cylinder the same way?

Only the 95 Wolv had the 36mm Warrior carb., which was an accelerator pump type.
The 95 carb was a totally different design and thus had a different intake manifold.
I have also heard that the throttle response was the biggest complaint.

The throttle response is part of the reason i am asking. Somewhere (i can't remember where) i read that the 96 had the same carb and that was why i thought they might have the same carb. So do the newer carbs still have the two bolts attached directly to the carb?

The 95 carb has (2) threaded studs on the carb that go through the intake and attach with nuts/washers.
The 96 and newer have a rubber boot on the intake side that has a large clamp that clamps it to the carb.
I double checked the parts break-down on the Yamaha web site and the 96 carb shown is the same as my 2001. It wouldn't surprise me though, if some early 96's may have had the 95 style carb.
