Blaster problems need help
#1
I am try to get my Blaster running after it sat for a year with gas in it. I drained the tank and added some fresh gas but it was not that easy. It will idle and run at low rpms with the choke pulled out, but at WOT it just dies and backfires. If I push the choke in it will not crank or idle at all.
I attempted to clean the carb, but it did not help. I also noticed that the fuel switch will only flow on RES. I think the ON position may be clogged up from the fuel sitting for a year.
Does anyone have any tips on how to clean the carb and other fuel components? What else could be causing this problem?

try wiggling or taking off the parking brake because it has a sensor on it that tells it if the parking brake is on and if it thinks its on it wont rev.
those things made me think my blaster was broke so many times i just bought a block off kit. hope i helped

Thanks for the suggestion, I will give that a try. I am not sure if that will fix it though, because it will not run without the choke pulled out all the way.
I am going to check all of the fuel lines and try to clean the fuel switch today.
Any other suggestions?

the petcock (sp) may be clogged if it will only flow on res. that might even be clogged somewhat not allowing enough fuel to flow into the carb bowl to run at WOT or without the choke for that matter.
