I would just stud you tires. Chains take away a lot of power

I just wanted something temporary, I don't plan on ridining in the snow all winter, just when we go to the mountains to get Christmas trees.

I had chains on my Raptor and it was awsome. It doesn't take away any power that you will notice. Going across a field I had a roostertail that looked like the Miss Budweiser. You'll want to take your heal guards off because no matter how tight you get the chains, they will hit and destroy your heel guards. The one thing they will let you do is get into much deeper snow than you would normally have before you get stuck. You also want to keep all your weight on the rear end when going through uneven snow depths. I was hauling *** across a field and went across a low spot in the field but the snow was even on top. When the front wheels hit that soft snow they dove in and stoped the Raptor in it's tracks. I, however, did not stop. Before I could blink I was over the bars and making snow angles in front of the quad.

thanks for the response, sounds like they will be perfect for me. Hopefully my feet don't slip off the pegs though...

Has anyone ever used paddle tires in the snow?

I've used paddles in the snow, works great at the dunes with a light dusting of snow. I ridden many miles on logging roads with dirt tires, up to 10" deep, you really have to work the quad to keep it going, that's a blast, keep all your weight back and just keep rocking.

A friend of mine has a Banshee and he used his paddles in the snow and it tore them up pretty bad. It seems like the rubber gets hard and brittle. When the tire spinns and hits solid ground it tears the paddle off.
