Default Warn 424 select

Hey i know the warn 424 isnt all that new but i've never looked at it t'ill now, I have a 1990 Big Bear 350 and a few years back i blew the front dif and CVs and instead of fixing i drove it rear wheel drive..I loved it my Bigbear rolled faster and i loved the power slides i could do with it. For only 2 wheel drive i was beating my buddy in mud and he had a kodiak 400 4x4 with ITP589's all around. But now my old man wants it back to its original shape and back 4x4 but i still would like 2 switch it from 4 to 2 wheel drive once in awhile....so i was wondering if anyones every installed this on an older ATV or if its even possible?

Warn's web site only shows that they have a 424 for 1997-1999 Big Bear 350. Their "Fit" year ranges are generally pretty accurate.

I know on the Wolverine, the 2000-2005 kit would NOT work on 1999 and older. The pre-2000 Wolv owners had to wait till they came out with the sencond Wolv kit.

Default Warn 424 select

Does anyone know the approximate dimensions of the Warn 424 select...I was thinking if the warn 424 only need to be extended or shortened to make it fit my 1990 Big bear then i will buy one and modify it.

Give Warn a call and ask them what changed in '97. I've talked to them on the phone and they were very nice to deal with. I don't think they asked me for any specific serial number or anything. I'm guessing either the shaft diameter or spline dimensions changed somewhere along the line.

Do a search on "warn" and "winch" and you should be able to find their phone number pretty easily.
