Default 660r Exhaust blow-out

hey guys the exhaust on my 660 is blowing out, you know where the muffler joins to the header pipes, directly behind the heal guard, well there is a U shaped bolt holding it together,
i bought the rappy used its a 2003, is there something missing from where it joins and is there something i can do to stop it blowing out, there is quite a big gap all round where it joins,
where the muffler part sits over the pipe part, where both parts join and overlap, there is little slots in the muffler part,
i had it apart and reshaped both ends then re-joined but it still blows out, i tried that cement stuff but it just cracks off b/c there is movement in the pipes especially when i rev it hard,
i have a good bit of power loss, i regained power when i first cemented the join but once it cracked i lost power again
any suggestions would be appreciated

I'm confused as to how your system works. Is it the stock exhaust system?

Whether stock or aftermarket, the header and muffler should be a snug, overlapping fit. You should also have the stock clamp, which is a round clamp that slides overtop the pipe, and cinches via a bolt/nut. There should be no gap.

It could be someone fooled with it, and the pipe and muffler are so out of shape that they simply are no longer sealing. It may be time for a new system.

sorry forgot to mention, its a stock pipe, i was just looking for a quick fix while i wait for the new pipes to arrive, it was definately fooled with, i tried to re-shape it as much as possible but still not a snug fit,
when i tighten that bolt up it just creases the pipe up to where it leaves a gap,
ah well ill just have to wait for the new pipes
