Default Performance CDI for the Raptor? Worth it?

Did some searching on this topic...nothing good found.

Is there a good CDI out there for the Raptor that is worth the money?

I would like to get a more agressive advance, a higher rev limit and no reverse limit.

Any sugestions?

Dyna shows a different CDI box for a '01 raptor than the '02 thru '05. Does anyone know why?

The stock CDI's are different as well, not sure what the change is but an 01 CDI will not work on an 02 up.

Dynas are big money. I got this one for $99. I will let you know how it works.

Raptor CDI

Increases rev limit to 10K, inscrease reverse rev limit, has more agressive advance.

A $400 CDI that gives a couple horses in return is not a very costworthy investment for most Raptor owners. A higher end build that needs to rev beyond 9K rpm's....yea maybe so. Most guys buying these $100 units that simply remove the rev limiter are pretty comical. They don't have the mods to still be MAKING MORE power above 9K and are beating on their engines needlessly...especially with an already weak rod.

What gave me the idea was that I kept hitting the rev limiter at the dunes with my new Craycraft beast. It was happening in the whoops at the base of the hill. Once the limiter engaged, it took a second to clear out before it would pull hard again. It was causing me to loose to this annoying Banshee. (only by a length or so)

A lot of the problem was me re-learning how to tame this new beast. But, it pulls hard all the way to the limiter. I will let you know how this new CDI works out, or if was just the carb slides bouncing around.

This one moves the limit to 10K, ups the reverse limit and has a more agressive advance. (what ever that means) for $99. It's not programable like the $400 dyna.
