Default 05 Grizz axle not broke but have problems

Hi Guys
I called the dealer today, they have'nt touched my machine yet, apparently they are really busy with all the sleds. I did'nt bother mentioning that I consider my ATV to be a "snowmobile" too, I figure I may as well keep quiet and hope that they treat me right on this repair. He did say that he had called Yamaha and that they were going to check with some of their field reps to see if this has been an issue that other dealers have dealt with. He has not heard back from them yet. My dealer agreed with me when I told him that it would seem that Yamaha has acknowledged a problem, given the fact that they have a new cir-clip available. Time will tell I guess. As soon as I hear anything I will let you know.

Picked up the Grizz today, they replaced the cir-clips with the new part # clip from Yamaha and installed O-rings underneath them. They said that Yamaha has never heard of this before, which even the dealer thought was unlikely since Yamaha has issued a 2nd clip.
They are trying to get some of the labour covered and will let me know, in the meantime I paid for the clips. gear oil and two hours labour. Hopefully they stay in now. Another thing they suggested was to tighten up the preload setting on the rear shocks. I'll let you know if there is anymore problems.

I called Yamaha and they said they had taken a lot of calls on this issue and it seemed to be quite a problem. He told me to take it back to the dealer and have them inspect the machine and then send Yamaha an estimate for the repair and that they would work with me on the problem. I figured that the dealer would have my machine for about a month before it was fixed and that I will probably end up paying for the labor so I am going to order the new axle end and a c-clip and replace it my self. When the 01 Raptors had all the transmission problems I had one and the dealer had my raptor for about 3 months and Yamaha went good for NOTHING. Now I will just pay for the parts and replace it myself because what the parts cost will be cheaper than 2 hours of labor at 70$ an hour. Its to bad that these companys have you by the short hairs

hello,
pretty busy lately, i'll catch you up on my status. picked up my machine on fri. dec. 30, dealer told me i didn't owe anything for my axle work, they covered parts and all the labor, i did pay $50 to have my valves adjusted, they told me ahead of time that is what it would cost. overall i appreciate my dealer helping me out dealing with yamaha, since warranty has expired. so far no problems (knock on wood) yet, hopefully everythings ok now. today i installed my thumb assist and hot grips that santa brought me! keep me posted on how you guys make out and of any other problems and i'll do the same.
thanks and safe riding

ps i had my rear shocks on d setting(next to the stiffest), i don't know if that will help you or not

hello, looks like I have a appointment at the dealer the 18 of this month . I was ice fishing this weekend and the left side axle came out. I have talked to yamaha and they said to take it to the dealer. I hope that they take care of me as good as the did Misgun. HARD TO BELIVE THAT THIS IS SUCH A PROBLEM. I will let you guys know what they do for me if anything.

Well, Yamaha asked me to take the wheeler in to the dealer as soon as I could and the dealer got it right in and took it all apart and they told me that Yamaha was going to replace both inner axles and c-clips and no cost to me at all. I am pretty impressed with Yamaha for doing this! I guess this might be a bigger problem then they had expected. I should have my wheeler back by next weekend. I think I would rather be without my truck then my 4-wheeler! can't wait to get it back!

hello
good for you, it sounds like you done better than me, they only fixed my one side for nothing(i'm jealous!!)
i did notice the other day when i jacked the rearend up to adjust shocks that my right side axle dust cover was a little bit slid out, i pushed it in but couldn't pull it back out, i thought maybe it slid out because i had everything at weird angles but left side that was fixed didn't. i'm gonna call yamaha and see if they will pay for putting in the new clip on that side before it messes up the axle end, but gonna wait till after weekend cause alot guys going riding sunday and i don't wanna miss out. hopefully everything stays intact till i get home. thanks for keeping us updated on your status, keep in touch.
safe riding
