Yamaha Tri-z clutch help??
#1
I have a 1985 Tri-z 250 and i think my clutch is slipping. When I am driving down the street in any gear and I nail it the engine revs up high like it normally would but it doesn't take off like it should. it seems like it takes a couple of seconds for the gear to catch and take off. can this be adjusted or do i need to replace the clutch?? if i need to replace it where could i get one? if it can be adjusted please tell me what to do. thanks

I am not familiar with Tri-z, but I am with other Yam trikes, and here is how you adjust/tighten clutch on YTMs.
- lossen adjuster bolt, behind brake lever on right side of trike.
- with a large flat screwdriver, turn slotted bolt counter clockwise till loose,
- turn slotted bolt clockwise till you feel strong resistance.
- retighten adjuster lock bolt.
Remember that this is used on auto clutch/semi auto trikes though, probably different on tri-z but could be usefull....
