Raptor 700 = T*RD Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I greatly like the new handling of the machine my 05 finely tuned Yoshi exhaust 660 spanks it in the power department. Mildy disappointed to say the least. I put a slipon W2 and GYTR airbox and was frankly embarassed with its performance at Buttercup this weekend
My son's 06 YFZ w/ Sparks pipe and airbox was a jet and damn near unbeatable. Guys with $5k engine mods were amazed. But we were downright embarassed with the Raptor

I take it you do not have an EFI controller? If not get one, I reccomend the Power Commander III USB
You will not be disapointed

I seen an advertisement in Dirtwheels where HMF has a full exhaust for the new 700 Raptor for $470.00,they claim a 10 HP increase.HMF also has a new TFI plug module for $199.00.Thats a lot better than Trinity's and others prices of $299.-$399. I have personally always had super good results with HMF.

It's going to take some time to get the new Raptor figured out. Something is holding back the power, it should spin a lot higher than 8K rpm. Watch for a new cam, I suspect that will be the beginning of real power from that motor.

The reason I like the Power Commander III over the Doebeck and Trinity is it is much more sophisticted and has a lot more headroom for future mods. You can download maps from the power commander websit andvia USB cable you can download them to your controller or you can creat custom maps. The other controllers in my opinion are somewhat limited. With the Doebeck's gen II controller you would have to send it back in and have it remapped if you do more than an airbox & full system. My second choice would be the trinity as it's made by doebeck but is a gen III controller and had more fuel delivery potential but you still do not have the option of loading different maps to it. Some say the other controllers are more user friendly, but I disagree. The PCIII is very easy to use and makes dyno tuning on a dyno jet dyno a snap to optimize your machine to your specific mods.

Have you felt any difference with your mods and I was curious if you put yours on a dyno? I am gonna call dynojet today get a price I think we are a dealer we have a dynojet dyno, havent put my raptor on yet but put our 2005 trx450r on it after mods cant wait to try raptor with mods.It makes it nice to see power output changes after spending alot of money. But you never really know till you get it out in the track or trails, that is were it really matters!

Well something needs to be done because on the trail and on the track its a big fat turd compared to a well tuned 660. I had to run and hide from the DS650s all weekend in shame. Whether it be up Comp Hill or over at the Sand pit. I don't expect it to beat 30k Banshee's but it at least ought to be neck and neck with a bone stock YFZ or DS 650

My was to lean with just the removal of the air box lid when it was bone stock.
Before I did any thing other than remove the airbox lid, I installed the PCIII and felt an immediate gain. The acceleration and throttle responce was unreal compared to stock. I then installed the GYT-R high flow filter & adapter and the Phoenix systems sparky remapped the fuel curve and it made a whole different quad out of it. I now need an extended swing arm as it will wheelie in 2nd 3rd & 4th The thing flat rips for the little that I've done to it. It is by far faster & quicker than my well tuned piped & air box modded 660R and I've yet to put the full exhaust sytem on it. Don't be to disapointed, just do your homework and get a good EFI controller on your 700R take the time to tune it well and you will then see the performance increase others have enjoyed.
