I'm making the switch from a wolverine to a prairie
It kinda makes me sad, but I'm selling my wolverine in favor of a prairie 650 or 700. I rode a 650 this summer and realized how awesome they are. The only thing that the wolverine has on a praire is looks and light weight.
I never thought I'd end up with an automatic quad but I have to admit when I'm wrong. Praires are pretty awesome. I'm still planning on getting a raptor 700 for myself and giving the praire to my wife so I'll still be partly blue-blooded. (I also still have the old IT465).
Sorry fellow wolverine guys but I have to jump on the big-bore bandwagon. I'll always like the wolverines (at least the original ones) but they will need to offer a 700+ cc machine that weighs around 500 lbs before they win me back.
There's just no replacement for displacement.

Enjoy your new quad and make sure you keep the belt deflection perfect on your new kawi.......and carry a spare belt.........

I know that the praire isn't 500 lbs. The prairie is just a good running utility in my opinion. The fact is that the purpose of the wolverine was to provide a 4x4 sport quad. Yamaha did a great job in 1995 and it performs well against most anything out there today 500cc and under. I'm just saying that I would need some nice horsepower numbers and light weight before I would be tempted to buy another (sport 4x4). If you cant get that you might as well buy a big bore utility that weighs 600lbs but has more hp per pound.
I don't think the scrambler is a good buy either considering the performance.

Front actuator went out in very minor conditions.
More cold blooded than any honda I've ever owned.
Uses fuel like a funny car.
Belt gets wet very easily.
Keep spitting oil out every once in a while from unknown location, also find it in the filter occasionally despite oil level being spot on and scouring the bike multiple times for leaks or bad seals.
Front suspension waaayyy too soft.
Tires arent only useless off road, but very succeptible to puncture. Skinny fronts and heavy nose means you need that winch.
Numerous recalls and no dealer in the state can get the parts, meanwhile the recall letter says if I ride it I could die.
I think that's most of it.
