1999Kodiak,
No I don't have any pictures. And no it wouldn't sink if I didn't hold it up. However if I did not hold up the front it, the front would sink down quite a bit. But the atv would still float, it's jsut the front end would go under water (over the racks). If I had bigger tires I probably wouldn't have that problem. Right now I'm currently running stock tires. And as long as you assist the front end a bit you can walk it across water. The rear end floats very well (bigger stock tires)

If you don't have anything nice to say, Don't say it at all. If you bothered to read all the forums you would find that our fellow Atv'ers have proven you wrong!

No need to get nasty !

If 500lbs of steel won't float, tell me how the Navy floats 91,000 tons of metal. And they do it with no air in the tires!

This one guy i know has an older kodiak like a 1996 or 97 and he has the weirdest snorkel setup for mudding but that is a different story. He also has big mudding tires and when he goes across he said that it seemed to be floating a little, but not like a boat or anything.

Hey warriorrules,
There is alot of difference in the viscosity of the water/mud that a guy can drive through. If your going through just plain water, you would probably float pretty easy. If you are going through that real thick soupy stuff, chances are you won't float at all, but more likely get sucked right down to the bottom!

It also depends on how fast the water current is moving. May times I have "floated" my Banshee across a fast river only about 16-24" deep. I had to point it upstream and ended up about 25 feet dowm from where I entered. Had a hard time getting the rear wheels to hook up.

Hey man, this may be comparing apples to oranges, but I rode in Wolf Pen Gap in Mena Arkansas this summer, and it rained like 5 inches while we were up there. I was on my Banshee, so I was grounded.. We were camped by a creek, so we got to watch all the old people try to cross the 5 ft. water this was funny! I don't know about a Kodiak, but a I watches a 250X float down the river, a Recon get tossed up in the air, and thrown down stream, a Foreman Float across, and some 400ex's float across VERY easily! I don't know about Kodiak's, but my sportsman dosen't float.. i found that out the EXPENSIVE way. LOL Later

Yeah like a rock,,,,I would like to see one of these quads float. I have seen a lot of them under water, and have seen a lot of snorkel setups.
