You might want to re-read my post ROOSTKING, you seem to have missed the point.

In no way did I ever state that drag racing is not a matter of ET. However, I was using a Top Fuel car as an example of a fast vehicle, which is correct.

BTW...Since this BBS is a place for opinions, I will post anytime I have something to add.

I guess you miss my point. You come into a forum titled "Banshee vs. Cr250" and complain about hating these posts that compare top speed. Instead of creating heartache for yourself and others, why not choose to not even visit the thread? Makes sense to me. Kinda like if you dont like what on TV, you turn the channel, not write NBC and complain about something. As far as top speed is concered, how about using a tank mounted TOW missle(with a higher top speed of course) to take out the top fuel dragster, then there will not be a race at all. Lets keep it real, eh?

Then again, when you get a machine with a high top speed, you may be singing a different tune, Until then, tune out...

I agree, I could have said nothing, but I decided to speak my opinion at the time I read the post. I had already taken the time to read it, so I decided to post my view on the subject. That's what these boards are for.

As far as TOW missiles...
They are wire guided, meaning they really aren't that fast. They aren't mounted on tanks either...they are sometimes mounted in place of a .50 cal machine gun on the top of HUM-V's however. Now...if you want some real power and speed, try an IR or Laser guided Maverick launched from an attack plane....much more speed and explosive power.

I have a 2000 Banshee and I have raced a KX250 and a CR250. When I raced both, I had about 2-3 lengths on them through the powerband till 5th, when they caught up and passed me. My buddy has a 1998 banshee with FMF pipes etc. I watched him race a piped CR250 and beat him by about 5 lenghts up till about 5th when the CR caught up. I have both of these on video.

Roost King
how do you think that a topfuel dragster gets the fastest et. By hooking up at the start and having the "Fastest Speed" to make it to the finish.
I would like to see your banshee race a mx vs Blaster 97's 250r. Top speed doesnt mean as much in a real race as handling does. The PEP on the r(which already handles better than a banshee)will kick your ace. Just cause you have i dont know maybe 20 or more horsepower wont matter against an r in a race.

I have a '96 Banshee, and have drag raced a '99 RM250 several times on hardpack. Both times he pulled me 1-2 bike lengths all the way through my 6th, and then he walked away (his 5th gear). Also had a chance to go heads-up on asphalt against a '98 YZ80. I was surprised how fast those things are, I was ahead of him the same way I was behind the RM, walked away in 6th.

Screed,
A top fuel dragster does not get to the finish line on top speed. It all depends on who accelerated fastest. Often times, a car will be faster through the lights, but still lose the race on et. Meaning the faster car may have been picking up speed at the end of the race, but it was too late, the race is over.

reaction time also place part in the e:t. Say 2 cars run identical times down the track and one cars has a better reaction time the car with the better reaction time wins.I have raced many dirtbikes on my 250r on a mx track. There was a open track day. besides 2 really fast guys on 250's (a cr and yz)my cousin and I and his freind where the fast out there. We raced many bikes but with terrible riders. All of us where on qauds 2 400ex's and my 250r.
