raptor fuel problems
#1
hi, i own a 2001 raptor with tranny upgrade, slip on exhuast, stage 1 hotcam, 11/1 piston, kandn filter, dynojet kit, dirt digger clutch and many other non-motor mods. I have a problem, when i ride wide open for about 30 seconds, it dies out. Its like im not getting fuel fast enough to the float bowls. when i let it sit and idle for about 5 seconds, it will be fine for another 30 seconds. if im just trail riding and not on gas constantly, it runs fine. How can i get more gas to the bowls ples help.

check your floats....an easy way to do that is by replacing the normal drain tubes from the bottom of the carbs with a clear tube. then make a U out of the tube and let the gas drain into it. then hold the tube next to the carb and the gas should be about 3mm above the split where the float bowls connect to the rest of the carb. if the gas is a little higher or lower then your floats probly need adjusting. i hope that made sense.

thanks man, the floats are fine but just added dual pecocks and drilled out the gas inlet on carb 2 and ran the 2nd line to that, now rus excellent. I hoping to get under 8 seconds in an eighth mile. Thanks ne way

hey rapalure, i am going to be getting the 11:1 and a stage 1 hot cam. My question is, how does it run, and do you have any problems with it besides what the post was about? I really want to get it done. I pretty much have the same mods as you except the piston and cam.
