Default kodiak won't start

i have a 2003 kodiak 450 and it quit on me the other day i thought it might be my coil but i don't have any power going to the coil. i have a Multimeter but it says in the manual to test the stator with 100x homs but my meter just has 200 2000 20k 200k 2000k. can anybody tell me if i need a different Multimeter or what setting to use or any ideas to get my bike going . thanks

Example: Let's say that you want to test a 12 volt battery for proper volts. Your meter has sacles of 10 volts, 20 volts, and 100 volts. If you used the 10 volt scale, your reading would exceed the scale. You could use either the 20 or 100 scale, but on the 100 scale, the reading woud be too difficult to be very exact. Therefore, the best scale to use would be the 20 volt scale.

The same principal holds true for an ohm meter. (It merely measures the resistance in the circuit.) If the desired readings are approximately 100 ohms, then use the scale that has a maximun reading that is higher than the 100 ohms.

Is that clearer now, or did I confuse you more?

BTW, I am confused as to the meaning of the "x" in your statement of "100x".
