Comfort is an ambigious trait. Let's start with some facts...35 HP for the YFZ and 41 for the Predator. Not according to Webopper, but according to posted dyno runs by CT Racing on the same dyno.
Doyle, after that, I think I'm out on this thread, I already said my piece earlier. I will be keeping an eye and making sure no BS gets passed around...

Sorry, preds just dont do anything for me. They use up all that horse difference, an then some for the WEIGHT YOUR DRAGGING AROUND.
Every dyno I have seen on a yfz says stock they are 39Horse. Even the MSO says that. I dont doubt you have a few extra horse in the pred, stock. Put pipes, intake, and jetting on both and see what those numbers say!
The pred has been shotout with the yfz and raptor several times, with the yfz easily being the better quad. THERE IS NOTHING TO COMPARE!
Dont mean to dis your quad, just stating some OTHER facts!

..............and when it was put against the raptor, its didnt win either. The rappy can easily get its butt kicked by a yfz, so there you have it!
So what that extra stock horse getting you........

My opinion is going to be Extremely bias to yamaha's favor, as I have always ridden yamaha quads. Polaris is a new comer to the sport games. Hell, they didnt even know how to do a 5-speed tranny, and whats up with there airbox design.
The pred weighs WAY too much, and its expensive fox shocks are not well tuned between the front and rear. I do like that polaris went and put nice expensive shocks on there, but they dont suit the quad.
I have to admit that I have never ridden a pred, but we ride with a guy that does, and I have also ridden with them on the track.
Prior to the yfz and trx, it was your best bet to go hit the track with a stock machine and do alright. Now that those two are out though, the pred didnt/doesnt compare. POLARIS EVEN NEW THAT AND PUT REVERSE ON THE THING TO COMPETE AGAINST THAT RAPTOR.
When we ride with the guy that has the pred, it just seems like its not as capable as the yfz or the new 700 raptor. Its a decent enough machine, but IMO its not up to the par that yamaha has set on sport atv's.
I am sorry if I hurt your feelings talking about your quad, but I was just posting what I have read and seen from those machines!
There more of a competitor of the z400/kfx/dvx and raptor 660

well, IF they do, there is probably a reason for it. Nothing has really beat 'em. Honda tried with the trx and failed. Honda doesnt even have anything to compete against the raptor, or banshee. Suzuki and kawi have there z/kfx, which is a competitor of the yamaha raptor 660, and honda 400ex, but thats it.
Yamaha has been in the sport game for a while now. INfact, they have ripped there money making 400/426/450 motor out of there dirtbike and put it in a quad known as the YFZ. they where the first in a ultra sport 4-stoke engine, and have a lot of time in that motor. HOW do you think its going to compare to a new, never really used, 500cc powerplant that is unproven and is there first at a 5 speed tranny????
Of couse the magazine are going to go with the yamaha, they are tried and true and are proven winners, ESPECIALLY WITH THE YFZ450!

That thing doesnt compare to the yfz. I DARE YOU TO FIND SOMETHING THAT SAYS ITS BETTER THAN A YFZ. YOUR NOT GOING TO FIND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND, congrats on finding ONE shootout that they picked the pred over the raptor. They picked it for the same reason I woud have. The raptor is topheavy and its suspension is not as good as the preds. As far as everything else goes, the raptor IMO is better
