Replacing CV Boots on Grizzly
#1
After the problem I had with my CV Boots I am going to at least take them apart, clean them, and repack them with grease. Its time I start learning how to take care of things myself, the dealer is not very reliable.
What tools do I need, I am having a hard time finding this information. I hope you guys can help.
Does anyone know of a website that gives more information about doing this?

For the CV boots you'll need a 17mm socket for the wheels. A 14mm and 17mm for the a-arm/knuckle. A 27mm for the CV axle bolt(If I remember correctly). A good pair of snap-ring pliers, a flat head screw driver and a rubber mallet.
If you are going to be doing your own maintenance, start with a basic metric set of hand tools. You can add to it as you dig deeper into the machine.

I have never looked at a repair manual before but I would guess it says to remove the axle nut and remove the axle from the hub. Judging buy the post above abought having to have a 27mm for the axle nut I would asume most people do this. Personaly i cant figure out why you would want to go threw all that trouble. I can replace a boot on the wifes grizz in less than 1/2 hour. I simply remove the tire followed buy the shock and then unbolt the hub from the A arms. 4 bolts(not counting the 4 lug nuts) and the axle is out. This does leave the hub hanging from the end of the axle but so what. I have found it a lot eisier to just work around it then to remove it. If this is how the repair manual says to do it then just disregard my little tip. I could go look at the one I have but I have never opened it so why start now.
