Sounds kinda risky to take the stator apart and risk messing it up just to run some accent lights. If you are good with electrical stuff and think you can do it go ahead, but be warned that stators are expensive if you mess it up. It's safer to just install an independent battery and charge it up whenever the accent lights get dim. If you use led's you can probably get a couple hundred hours on one battery charge, because LEDs are extremely power efficient.

run two-35watts, one spot one flood and you'll never have any problems.
