Default Some questions on the Raptor 700R

I recently purchased a new Raptor 700R the other week and I was hoping someone could answer a few questions for me. I have been on quads for a long time before but this is my first high performance quad that I have owned. I am more aware about utility atvs. So anyway, some questions about this new raptor are as follows:

1. Within the first few hours of riding my new raptor the temperature light had come on. I immediately turned off the motor. I quad is new so I was not driving it hard at all. I had just stopped and it was idling for a little while. However, I dont remember if the fan was running because I turned the quad off quickly. Has anyone had problems with the new 700R overheating. I live in Pennsylvania and it is cool up here at the moment so I was surprised that the light came on. Does anybody think there is something wrong. Could this cause damage. I only happened one time.

2. When riding at night I noticed that the header coming off the motor becomes red hot. Again I have only been giving half throttle and not running it hard. My buddy has a 660 and he says he never noticed it on his even when riding it for long periods of time. Even at night when it is below freezing, I start the quad and within a few minutes the pipes are red. Does anyone have an explaination for me.

1. Do you have enough coolant? Make sure the coolant is ATLEAST to the low mark in the bottle.

2. You're just a little lean, most quads come a little lean from the factory. My YFZ did the same thing when I first got it.

The glowing of the header is normal.

As for the overheating, check to make sure your coolant bottle is full and make sure that the fan is actually running as well.

I had problems with it getting too hot.. there was a bad fan connection back by the tool box. That is what the dealer told me. Said it wasn't getting a good connection.
