Wow. Thanks for all the replies and welcome.
I actually went out and rocked the quad into park right after I made this post yesterday and the light turned. I heard it shifting into park after rocking. Still having the problem when shifting back to Neutral though. I leave the bike in N so I can roll it around the garage faster. When I put the key in yesterday the light was on but never turned back on after shifting out. I'm not sure what the deal is but I'll keep messing with it.
Once the park light is on it fires right up.
Where is the fuel mixture screw located?
I'm working on getting it started with the pull cord but like yous said, it's not easy.
I can't get it turned when in High. Someone told me there might be a switch in the tranny I may need to override?
There's 100 miles on it.

the only shifter issue ive noticed on my Grizz is when i stop on a hill, and put it in "park",sometimes the light will be on saying im in,but then it will drift, only backwards, and i noticed if i put it in park while its still running, and then shut it off it doesnt do it

the mixture screw is behind the float bowl on the outside of the carb on the bottom, centered,,,its going to be hard to get to,,,,it might be easier to do for atleast the first time to remove the carb leaving the throttle cable attatched,,,,you will have to remove the choke cable, and hoses, but its alot easier not messing with the throttle cable
do you have to hold the brake in when starting it with the shifter in anything other than "Park"?,,,,if its out of park, including neutral the brake has to be depressed fully in order to start
you still shouldnt be having this trouble with only a hundsred miles

you definatly have some wires goofed up,,,it should start with the shifter in any position with the brake depressed
make sure the brake is fully depressed, the lever that brakes all four
and i would be loading it up,and taking it to your dealer, and have them figured out whats going on,,,there's just no excuse for that happening at 100 miles

HooPharted is quite correct.....it should start in any gear with the brake depressed. To start in gear with mine I have to really press the foot brake down HARD....it makes me feel like I'm damaging the mechanism cause I'm on it so hard. I only have 120 miles on it, but the warranty is done. I'd really appreciate it if you could find out what the problem is when you take your's in and post it so that I could fix mine myself. It sounds like your's is just a little bit worse than mine, or you're not stepping on that footbrake hard enough out of fear of damaging it.
And you're right about roping it over by hand....I left my handwarmers on while fishing last year and killed the battery! There was no way I could get it started with the rope with a totally dead battery! Another guy towed me in (I always keep a heavy duty rope dragging behind me while on the ice) and I jumped it. We could'nt even get it to start by towing it on the ashphalt. I think I wore out half of the pull starter rope trying to start it...and took 2 years of life out of my heart too....

lol, that pull start will definatly tear some cartilage
i use the hand brake when starting out of park, the only time i use the foot brake is taking turns on the road,or trail

I'm pressing down really hard on the brake and nothing doing. As a matter of fact, I'm getting frustrated now.
My warranty is long gone since mine was prolly one of the first off the assembly line in 2004.
I burned out a battery a few months ago leaving the ignition on for who knows how long. Is there a possibility something was blown out when I tried to jump it?

so was mine,,,,i got mine in late May of '04
i'll have a look at mine sometime this weekend, and see if i can find a spot or two you may be having a problem,,,its probably a single wire screwing you over,,,i hate electrical problems

I have to rock the machine to get it into park and I sometimes leave it in neutral to start.
I don't put the choke full to start.
