best way to setup warrior for trail riding?

i agree w/ recon99 the stock shocks work fine for trail riding and if u wanna think u need better look into raptor front shocks(cant remember if its the 01s or 02s) and raptor rear shocks(cant remember but i think its 02) but yes skids and nerf bars would b on the top of my list your rims should be fine the factory rims are pretty tuff as far as pipes go i have a white bros e-series w/ fmf power bomb header got it used for about $250 so if u look around u might b able to find sumthing lik that
the e-series pipe has disks so u can adjust it from low end to top end power works great i love mine
i have stock gearing and its plenty of power to get thru the ruts and everything else
edelbrock carb if i had the money id buy on in a heart beat

You shouldn't use any shocks on the front of the warrior except aftermarket ones designed for the warrior/banshee. Longer shocks like raptor or yfz's force the a-arms to extend greater distances, and put excessive force on the ball joints, causing them to wear prematurely, and often break when landing a jump. 2001 Raptor 660 rear shocks work great as un upgrade to the warrior's rear shock, and bolt right in without any modification.
Mostly this is just for reference for anybody that is considering putting longer shocks on the warrior with stock a-arms.

my setup works good in pretty much everything down here.. although i would liike to put a filter in it and rejet it.. maybe a cam too...
the skid plate is da **** tho.. def get it..
as far as tires go i would say any 22" if fine. however if you get kenda klaws get 20"( 21" rollout)
as far as slip on i would suggest HMF.. it seems to be the one of the few pipes that actually help with performance( i have tried damn near everyone out there)

I agree that the z400 is probably the best trail machine, but the warrior does just fine with a few mods. I don't think the 450r is very good for trails, because 2 of my neighbors have them, and they're just too wide for the trails, 1st gear is too high for slow riding, and the suspension is too stiff and bouncy for the rocky trails.

The warrior can be the ultimate trail quad after a few mods are put on but with a few more protection mods it can become near indestructible. Get full skids, nice front and rear bumper, front frame guard, side frame guard, handguards, shock covers, nerf bars, heel guards, thicker wheels, mud tires, and a thicker axle. If u put all that on i think it will be just about as indestructible as it will get.

Since he already has tires, I'd say skids and a pipe/filter is all he needs.
And why suggest another quad when he just bought a Warrior?
