Default 600 griz, hard starting

My friend has a 99 Grizzly and has a hard time getting it starting, sometimes. Battery is new. Will go on the pull cord. Sometimes no power to lights and to the key. I'm thinking that it's electrical but we don' t know where to look. Any info appreciated.

Check the grounds too.
And the two connections on the battery. The metal needs to be shiney, and clean, and the connection needs to be tight.

Hard starting because of power issues?? no clicking.... no turning over?? Or hard starting like it just turns over and over but won't kick in?

Reason I ask, I have an `02 griz and recently had issues with it not wanting to start. It would try and try... but it took forever before I could get it to turn all the way over. The valves were a lil tight and needed to be adjusted. Now it turns over right away... even in the cold Illinois weather....

hope this helps....

I agree with Hebs: immediate starting problem is electrical of course [?] so check and clean all connections on battery AND starter. Remember those guys have the world's weirdest sounding starter, which doesnt have a long life - it may be worn out. start shopping for a starter JIC. they are available aftermarket.
The larger issue is hard starting and in my experience the harder it is to adjust the valves, the harder it is to start the quad since the maintenance does NOT get done. take an afternoon and adjust those valves and it'll start right up. let me know how it goes, PM.
