Reed Stop's on a 2 stroke?

Default Reed Stop's on a 2 stroke?

do u have to have them if they came on the bike?

my tri-z had them from the factory but it doesnt have them now do i need some?

meh, i have a 1983 tri-moto 175 that i replaced the stock reeds and plates with the boyesen power reeds, and i didnt put the reed stops back on. Runs fine right now, been riding it for a couple years now.

Default Reed Stop's on a 2 stroke?

From my experience, if the reeds are made from steel use the stops. If some kind of resin/carbon fiber you can remove the stops. I actually grinded the arms off and left the plate that runs across the mounting holes.
