It would be cool if they would sell that in the states, but it would probably be over $12,000 anyways. I think it was a dirtwheels mag I have that had an article about some company that was making 50-state legal quads out of ktm 950 streetbikes. They looked awesome, but they were selling for $25,000! But hey, I can dream if I want to

I'd imagine it's the same case in canada as it is in the states, where the regulations vary from one area to another. Just contact the local police, a vehicle inspection station, department of motor vehicles, etc. Any of those should be able to give you the answers you need.

Street legal 2006 Rancher ES here in Montana. I had to add the following:

lighted license plate bracket - $20
additional reflectors to rear - free, originally on my '98 VFR800
reflective tape on front - $3
bar end rear view mirror - $15
horn - $17

Had to basically register it twice, once as an off-road vehicle for that sticker, once for on-road to get the license plate. Both permanent registration stickers. Seems like Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, basically more western states have provisions for registering a quad for street use.

I'm starting to wonder what tires might be good for mostly driving on pavement? I suppose a Warn 424 would save on tire wear too?

Worked a job down in Texas back in December where I was flying around down the highway doin 50 on my quad. Glad DPS never saw me, although we had permits for all that we were doing!

The warn 424 would make a huge difference riding on the road. You'll feel more power, your tires will last longer, it will coner better, and you will have less stress on your transmission, cv joints, and differentials.

My cousin just put bought some new tires for his suzuki eiger. It's a newer tire called 'Swamp Fox'. It has big meaty deep lugs, but they're laid out in a pattern so you don't get all the vibrations, noise, and excessive wear on hard surfaces. Even with the ~1.3 inch lugs it still rides as smooth on the road as it did with those wimpy stock tires. I thought the prices were very reasonable too. He paid $270 for 4 26" tires, mounting included.

not legal here in connecticut in any way, though it should be under the same restrictions as a car....how ever, atv tires dont grip the road right, making it difficult to control ur vehicle properly, thats part of the problem...beside, if u wanna ride on the road, get a car... quads = off road cars = on road....see how that works?
