I'm new to the Rochester area and will be getting a feel this week for the places that I will be able to ride and what
would be best for me. Plus I gotta remember that my main riding partner (my son) will be on a Desert Cat 90 so I can't leave him in the dust all of the time.

Valder, I'll PM you my #. There has to be more places in Roch to ride than I know of, but I do know of a few good places if you are OK with a little drive. In the meantime you can check out Trailpass for some ideas also.

Thanks ...I see you don't sleep either. LOL! Thanks for the link!

I have some friends that own 100+ acres in Sodus that I am going to check out. Plus there are some guys that work with my wife at B&L that know of some places as well. I'll get the skinny on them this week. I also have a Buddy in Batavia with lots of open land as well.

I plan on having to get a trailer to hook up to the Trooper otherwise I know I won't be riding it.

Edit: Somehow I deleted your PM Scooter86. Could you send it again. I definately have to get used to this style of forum.

Plus you want a rideable bike to your area. Banshees are great in open areas where unleached riding is the program, but a ton of work to ride in tight spots due to the narrow, "lights on" powerband and could provide a less than enjoyable experience. Eventhough I'm a Honda guy, I think I would recommend the Yamy 450. It's a great bike with a great torque factor. Although, if you can find a zilla it's a good all-around bike too, but a bitch to start unless you know how to do it and even then she will give you a headache from time to time. Also, Suzuki does not provide parts as long as Honda or Yamaha does.

Never really had a problem with the 250R at all in the woods and trails were I lived so that was why I was giving the Banshee a look.

I definately know that. I thought my 250R was cold blooded....my friends Quadzilla was even worse!

My wife made a suggestion tonight that made a bit of sense. Maybe I should go for the Raptor 350 now or Honda TRX 400EX...since I'll be putting along with the 8 yr old for more than a few years with his Unison Desert Cat 90 and when he is ready I can give him the Raptor or Honda and move myself up to a larger quad then.

Too much to think about. Plus I need a new lens or two for my Canon....

Just cause you have a fast bike dosn't mean you can't go slow enough for you son to keep up. if you have to choose between the rap 350 and the 400ex. Go with the ex. May i suggest a yfz 450, z400, kfx 400 or the raptor 700 are all very nice bikes.

Oh I know that, but just thinking out loud here about the trails I will be on and other factors....

Being a Gemini makes this a really intersting process. I'll go into the dealer with my mind made up and
will probably change it three times before I sign any papers.

as i mentioned earlier in the list and as i see more of what you want to do and riding with your kid, i think a 400ex or z400 is your ticket to ride. some dealers still have 04/05 models left over or nice used ones (near mint, ive seen them) so you can save some $$$ here. IMHO, the z400 is the best bang for the buck right now; may not have efi like the raptor (personally i wouldnt buy the 06, wait for the 07) but it is a great all round bike. im thinking about getting one. only thing about them (05 and up models; consequently the better performing, improved models) is a cover corroding problem. do a search on these forums- its to much for me to type here!
