Default Thinking about a Bruin 2X4...

I have been thinking about getting a Bruin 2X4 strictly for trail riding and hunting. Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback on this particular model?

My dad has one and he absolutely loves it! Very dependable machine, and plenty of get-up and go. He has no complaints.

Unless you have no absolute need for a 4wd then go for it. My girlfriend owns a 2004 Bruin 4x4 and other than it smoking on start-up(Amsoil synthetic oil stopped that!), it's a decent machine.
The places we ride at...there is no need for 4wd so she switches it off. But it's there when she decides to head through a mud hole.

If you can afford the extra cash....get the 4wd version. It will bring more money in resale value and trade should you ever decide to buy another atv.

My wife has the 06 bruin '250 2wd. It is an awesome atv for cheap. We rode up some rough logging trails that had steep hills. The terrain had snow, ice and mud.(New England weather is crazy!) She may have goten stuck a few times, but nothign backing up or going in a low gear couldnt overcome. I was impressed. I would buy it. But the 06 bruin 350 2wd has a higher hauling/towing capicity. I would check into that before you made your decision.
06 Bruin 250 2wd- Rack Capacity 66 Lbs.Fr. / 99 Lbs. Rr.
06 Bruin 350 2wd & 4wd Rack Capacity 88 front, 176 Rear.

Thats the difference between a doe and a buck.

slowneasy-- Where did you get your bumper from? I know the 04-06 Bruin 350 parts are the same. I like that rear bumper. My bruin is also my first quad and I love it too. Only have about 20 hours on mine and still the stock tires. If you do know of any site that has aftermarket accesorries for the bruin let me know, I have only been able to find yamaha skid plates and what not.

How would the Bruin fit a smaller rider? My wife is only 5' tall so I was thinking about getting her something small.

I'm sure a 250 would be fine.
