What's the little black box bolted to the frame next to the coil on a 2002 Banshee?

 

Thats the T.O.R.S box. Do your self a favor and disconect that P.O.S.

 

what is the tors box and what is its function

 

T.o.r.s is the throttle over ride system. Simply if your carbs stick wide open and you let off the throttle it either kills the motor or won't let the motor rev, it idles only. Can't rember which. It also controls the parking brake and when the brake is engaged the motor will only idle. Take a look at the top of your carbs. Those big boxes are part of the system. It's a good idea to get the tors removal kit, and new carb caps, and the parking brake block off plate and **** can the parking brake and tors crap.
