I have a 2003 660 raptor, it has just started this problem. It cranks fine, It Idles fine in nutral but just as soon as you put it in gear, it starts popping and idleing funny and has no power? What could this be from. It sort of sounds like a reverse overide on some atvs but it is not in reserve in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on. Please help a fellow out it is getting on my nerves. and i am about ready to get rid of it.

might be your e-brake

 

It might be that the switch in the clutch perch for the parking brake is stuck.

 

sounds like what they said but just to let u know on myold warrior it did the same thing the cam chain jumped a tooth but i would gas its the e brake switch

 

What they said. By design there is some kind of spark/timing retard switch in the e-brake. You can see the wires coming out of the clutch perch. One way to find out is to activate the e-brake and rev the motor. It will sputter and pop. If that is the same symtom then its most likely the swich.
