Hey guys
Went to the dunes last week for some riding. Went to load my quad onto the trailier and noticed it was a little louder than normal. I took a look at my cylinder head and noticed one of the exhaust studs broke. So no big deal a easy out will work no prob. Wrong, I drilled into the stud and started turning the easy out. The easy broke in the stud. So now to my question does anybody have any ideas. I dont want to take my quad to the dealership and get raked over the coals. I tried drilling out the brokin portion of the easy with not much luck. The easy out must be made of some hardened steel. The drill bit I was using was a gold oxide type bit. Anybody have any experience in this area? Thanks

Easy out's are very hard! Instead of taking it to a dealer do you have a machine shop locally ?
they can sometimes work miracles.

Yeah there are some around. I wonder if I am going to have to pull the motor. What a pain, anybody else have anything. I was thinking maybe some kind of drill bit that could cut through that easy out metal. Any suggestions

Take it to a welding shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They can weld a washer over the broken stud, then weld a nut to the washer, then back it off with a socket.
