Default Help. I have no idea what it is!!!

Hey everybody. Ive been looking around and Im new here, hopefully you guys can help
Well, my grandpa gave me this fourwheeler a few years back. It was in horrible shape body wise(seriously, the body is stripped of all paint), but the engine ran like new. I used it a little. Now I want to bring it to life again, but i have no idea what the model or year are.
Here is the only info I have.
It is 2 wheel drive, and used to ahve a darkgreen/gray color. It is either a 200 or 250. The word "yamaha" is written on the rear of the seat. The closest thing I have seen to it is the 1985 YFM200 on the yamaha epic site, but it has a different front fender and doesnt say "shaft" on the seat.

Any info would help so much. Thanks.

can you post a picture? it's gonna hard to give you anything except wild guesses without seeing it. you'd be hard pressed to find a yamaha that didn't say 'yamaha' on the seat

Default Help. I have no idea what it is!!!

I will post a couple pics tomrrow. It says yamaha on the very rear. Ive notices a few on the side. My grandfather was given this fourwheeler because a very untrusty friend owed him money. This is why I think the paint is stripped. It was prob. stolen somwhere during its lifetime, but No idea. It has the same lights and rear fender as the 85 200, but will post some pics tmorrow. thanks

is the paint stripped from the fenders or the metal parts? because the fenders wouldn't have came from the factory painted anyways.

the paint is from the plastic fender. This was painted at one time, you can see where teh paint was scratched away in some areas. It remains blotched with white and green now.

it kinda sounds like someone hit the original fender color with some spray paint. most paints wont stick to plastic like fenders...look around the motor itself for a sure brand or possible CC. maybe if u could find a vin number on the frame u could google the vin from there.

Here are some pictures. As you can see, its in pretty poor shape.

Where about the frame would the VIN be located?
