Sparks header glowing...rich/lean?
I just installed a Sparks X6 on the Rappy. It glows with a faint red while full warmed up idle. My Edelbrock is tuned for a stock pipe and I have not yet dialed the needle in for the Sparks. Would this indicate a rich, very rich or lean condition? Or is this normal? It runs very strong right now. I'm at about 1200ft elevation and temp here is 34°f.

Pull your plug....You want it to be a light brown....If it is white your lean....And if you get it to rich it will be wet and black

Sparks header glowing...rich/lean?
Thanks for the quick reply. Im not used to tuning non-computer controlled engines believe it or not. My carb has no jets, all I have to do is turn a dial on the top on the carb a click or two rich or until the header stop glowing I guess. I love that carb. I would really like to install an O2 sensor, I could tune it perfectly. Has anyone tried this?
