Who makes a decent priced GOOD aftermarket CDI that will work well with my 686? It's a 12:1 with HC stage 2 P&P head and Keihen 35 FCRs. I dont have the bottom end I'd like with it and think an agressive curve might help with that a bit. I dont care to dump $400 on the vortex units I see on ebay. Are any of the less expensive units worth a damn?

Dyna is the way to go. You can program it yourself if you buy yhr kit.

I assume the $100ish units sold on ebay are worthless? Is the Big Gun unit worthwhile?

Man with what you got in your rappy (DONT GO CHEEP)...I love my Computer Programable Dyna...Well worth the money...And dont forget to order the Tuning disk for it....so you can plug it into your computer and rise or lower your rev limiter...install a lonch limiter for dragracing...ad a tach if you want it....oh and if you need some more mid range pull or bottom end pull or top in pull...all you got to do is plug it in and you can put it were you want...it does it all with your timming curves...

I've got some expenses coming up ( tactical rifle class )and some home improvement work so cash will be a bit tight for awhile. I'm not worried so much about being the drag monster but the lack of bottom end irritates me considering the mods and cash invested. Some of it may be perceived as it has a 4.5" extended swingarm and big azzed extreme haulers when on sand. I just think a bump in timing would be a big help.

I actually had more bottom end before a shop rejetted my FCRs but it smoothed the whole thing out quite a bit and gave me huge top end. I had a bad stutter when off the throttle and back on, they cured that nicely. Ohh what I'd give for a good working EFI system on this quad.

Can you feel any increase in bottom end with it?
