I want a good truck but was wondering what kinds of nice cars can tow a one quad trailer, i have enough for a used mustang but i dont think they can tow a trailer, wat kind of car can that isnt a suv or a small suv.

A stang would be fine for towing a quad and a small trailer. I used to have a 97 v6 but I crashed it. They have gobs of torque like a truck, and the towing capacity is stated in the manual to be 1000 lbs. The car could handle more weight than that, but mainly the brakes wouldn't be able to stop it quick enough. I LOOOOOOOVED my mustang, and the fist chance I get, i'm selling my ricer escort and getting another one.

A atv trailer and 1 atv isnt all that heavy. But I do agree a Mustang shouldnt be towing. The average towing limit is 1,000 lbs. on a Mustang, which will probably be right around the weight of your trailer and quad. I would want more fluff then that. I say get a truck. You have less room to carry people around, they haul things right in the back. You just buy ramps, dont need to register a trailer each year or two. Not to mention buying a reciever hitch for whatever car it is you decide to buy. If you do decide to get a truck, make it a ford. But of course I'm biased here.

one quad and the trailer 1000 lbs? Yeah right. Try about 550 maybe. My trailer is big enough for 2 quads, has a big aluminum ramp on each side, and a heavy duty torsion axle and it's only 400 lbs. A small utility trailer only weighs 150-200, and the warrior is 400. Unless you've drove or owned a stang before, you don't realize how much torque they have. A v6 or v8 would tow 600 lbs just as good as a small truck.

v6's suck? What are you basing your opinions on? Absolutely nothing. Every jackass like you thinks that because it isn't a v8 it's slow. And what kind of car/truck do you drive? Who the *uck are you to say that my car sucked? I loved that car, it was a great car and i'll have another one soon.
And what's the big deal with towing a trailer with a mustang? It gets the job done. It's not like it's a 2000 lb front wheel drive honda civic with a 1.6 or something, it has as much or more power than most small/midsize trucks. The biggest thing for me is that it seems foolish to buy a pickup or suv just so you look cooler while you tow a trailer a few times a year. You end up with a vehicle with less performance, more expensive maintainance, higher fueling costs, and it just doesn't have the 'cool factor' or fun of a performance car.

Pulling a trailer is never really the issue if the motor has enough tourqe and your'e experienced enough to know when to shift out of overdrive. The issue is stopping and control that is it! First a mustang is not equiped with the right size brakes to tow the average trailer and quad. The mass of the weight is at the back of the bumper not inside the car as the weight of 4 passengers would be evenly dispersed, IN THE CAR! So you are dealing with a different volume of mass that the car was not designed for. So you could eventually boil the brake fluid and loose your brakes all toghether depending on the trip you take. Also as a mustang is extremely light and the uni-body can twist pretty good trying to stop that mass in a bad scenario.
Your life is worth more then the risk! Your already risking it enough riding the quad in the first place.
Do yourself a favor get a truck/SUV, don't be in an accidenct or cause one. Get your Mustang first and get a used towing only truck when you can afford it. I've seen to many towing accidents. Just my two cents!

Ok, I failed to look at what kind of quad he had, but I was thinking more along the lines of a utility quad, so it would be more like 700. Seeing as most utility quads are atleast 500 lbs. I agree w/ vegas just because something can tow a trailer doesnt mean it should. If you hook up a 5.0 Ford F150 to a 5.0 Mustang back to back, I highly doubt that mustang will be pulling the truck..they are not geared the same. Not here to start a argument. Do what you feel is best yamaharider.

I would say if you want to be able to carry friends and your quad then just get an extended cab or quad cab full sized pick up. That way you'll have more than enough room for your quad and enough room for your friends too.
