Its so much easier to drive and ride the new wheelers their not even in the same class.

I am speaking in a neutral light actually since I do not own the Raptor or YFZ. I have been riding for YEARS and I take it upon myself to attend many local and national ATV/Racing events. Just because I don't own one doesn’t mean what I have seen and that my opinion holds no truth/validity; in fact as a neutral source I think it holds more ground then your one sided BS being the owner of one of the machines being discussed.

The two Machines are VERY-VERY close and one can beat the other as I said above and as I have witnessed - your claim is that the YFZ just cant hang with you or the banshee. Being the astute ATV enthusiast that you are proving yourself to be id think you would understand all this a little better; we are judging the bike here once again and NOT the rider! If you take a stock 2006 YFZ and a stock Raptor "700" with equal riders its going to be a pretty damn close race in either direction. Don’t go and spread the BS that the "700" is soooooo much faster because you beat one with more mods and maybe you are possibly a more skilled rider. The post was in regards to what the general machines are capable of - hence Banshee vs. Raptor vs. YFZ; not your weekend warrior shootouts/backyard circuits.

So Keyboard Cowboy you can say all that you want in regards to how fast and untouchable your 700 vs. the YFZ but it's a load of cr@p. I wasn’t challenging you or saying you never beat the YFZ - just indicating that how you describe it is not how it is. Actually the only thing I was doing for the last three minutes was figuring out where one of your sentences stops and the other begins.

The banshee will kill you & the YFZ eventually if you want to go all out silly with the mods in straight lines. But STOCK TO STOCK a YFZ and a Raptor 700 are VERY close and I have seen them both win over each other (not by much on either side). You cant go and degrade the YFZs speed/performance if you have more mods... Dolt.

The bottom line is usually that the faster machine is what ever owner has the deeper wallet when not discussing stock speeds/performance.

That’s my non-biased $0.02 and that’s all.

ok there is truth in what you say i know the yfz is fast just as fast as the raptor i am not trying to put the raptor as the best quad but i would talk very high on it being that i use to own a banshee and ride the yfz about twice a week i would keep talking and going on in what your saying but were just going to keep saying the same thing over and over and i do agree alot on what you have to say
Keyboard Cowboy WTF does that mean
so it starts with name calling ????????????????????

The Banshee won't stay with a 400ex..?? What the hell are you talking about!??

NOt in the woods schmuck! And thats mostlikely where they race or on a track, and the banshee shouldn't even be on the track.

Hey wideopenbutthole, when did anyone ask what the best woods bike was? And no where in your statment did you say anything about woods riding. You just said that the Banshee won't stack up against a 450 or a 700 and that it wont even stay with a 400ex, which is a big huge crock of crap. In my next post I stated which quads were good in what situations, in my own opinion of course, 450's on the track, 700/660 on the trails and Banshee in a straight line.

The Banshee is over with. No dought a great thing when it was around, but they stopped making it for a reason.
2-stroke=snow
4-stroke=dirt

The Banshee is not being made anymore because of strict emission laws and that's it.

Yeah they could fix the emission problems just like the rest of the two strokes. The chassis needs some serious work too, INLESS you want to go in a straight line.

The Banshee is never over with. I still see people modding out 250Rs and Honda stopped making them in the late 80. The Banshee was made for 10 more years and will stick around. It doesn't have to be made by Yamaha anymore to be big. You could build 95% of a Banshee out of aftermarket parts. The only parts I haven't seen are the crank cases (not counting the triple) and stock style frames.

The major problem with the Banshee is that it doesn't work well out of the box. From the factory it’s designed to be slowed. You forget that in the mid 80s ATVs were on the edge of being BANNED in the U.S. That’s why the Banshee motor lost almost half of its stock horsepower vs. its power valve sister in the RZ350. The problem is that everyone wants it "faster" they want to beat this guy... or drag race someone.. so most Banshees end up with a dune or drag port and a set of mid-top end pipes with NO suspension upgrades. The suspension in the Banshee is no worse than the stock Blaster or Warrior suspension was. The problem is, you are pushing 50HP instead of mid 20s. Now get the motor trail ported, a set of mid range pipes and, a single carb intake. Fix the suspension with new A-Arms and socks all around. Now it would come down to the best rider in the trails.

Trail riding a 2 stroke takes practice also… even if you know how to ride. I was riding a 400EX for the first half of a trip with no problems at all. I switched to a Banshee for a few hours of riding. When I tried to ride the 400ex again I found myself not able to even shift correctly. I was use to shifting when the motor wanted vs. when the trail called for it.

Right from the showroom, I don't think the Banshee would stand a chance. Then again, the YFZ450 was the only quad Yamaha designed with the showroom-to-race idea in mind.
