Ok, i don't want to start anything, all i want is some honest opinions. I was going to buy a predator but i decided not to when polaris eliminated the 3 year warranty. So here is what i am wondering. I want a new quad, my desicion in between a 2006 Z 400, or a 2006 Raptor 700R. Price difference, is going to be around $1000, canadian, so that is something to keep into considertion. Any input or info on these bikes (whats the positive/negatives on them) would be greatly appreciated. Again, i don't want to create anything by comparing these two. I have never owned one, or tried one, and i want opinions from the people that own them. Thank you.

 

Well I dont own one but I ridden a z400 a couple of times. And I thought they were great the stocker and full out race one. THe major modded z was probably pushing 47 horses at least in 5 you would lean back and gun it on the street and you would be doing a 65 mph wheelie (which is very scary ecs. when your not expecting it). The stocker was fun to dont get me wrong.

 

well i have never ridden either, well not yet. but i would ask my self what i wanted. i have a 660 raptor, which is alot like a z and i love my raptor. it has a short wheel base [like the z] and s can pop wheelies very easily........i know that z's are very good on trials and with mods can be on the mx track. the 700 raptor is another story. it seems very race orientated as it has a longer wheel base and doesn't just appeal to me like a z would. you can just jump on and mess around as you could with a z. if you want to take your riding to a whole new level then get the 770, but if you want weekend fun and blasting about, go for the z, both are great quads.........you can't go wrong

 

How big are you? I looked at both before I bought my Raptor. It finally came down to which one felt comfortable for me. I am a bigger guy so, the Raptor felt nicer to me. You really can't go wrong with either one. Good luck.

 

I'd go with the Raptor personally.

 

I would go with the raptor 700 in a heart beat, but my friend has a 400 and is going to race me this weekend. He has every mod on it even 25 shot
I know I am going to lose, but I want to see what that quad can do. I ll let you guys know

 

id deffinatly go with the raptor. ive ridden z 400s many time and they are all rite. they fell really tall and tippy to me though. i havent ridden a 700 yet but my friends that have them love them. i hear its almost as fast as a yfz and my YFZ smokes any z400s.

 

I have the Z400 and a Raptor 660R. My buddy now has the Raptor 700 and I've riden it. It's like a lower, more stable, more comfortable version of the 660 (although it still shakes as much). You'll spend way more than the $1000 difference between the two to try and get to the performance level of the 700. It's just a way nicer bike. It's no contest in my opinion.

 

Raptor no question. Its awesome trailbike and very fast. I just rode all weekend in 7 inches of snow in the trails and i left polaris 800's and grizzlys in the dust. Its very easy to control and a blast to ride
