I used AMSOIL synthetic in my old rappy 660 and never had any problems. That is what I plan to use in my 700 when it gets time to change the oil. It is a bit expensive but worth it

Ok I know someone will pissnmoan but here is my opinion,, my 700 is getting ready for its first oil change and it will without a doubt get Amsoil 100% synthetic. I run it in my truck, my motorcycle, my wifes truck, my chainsaw, even my weedeater, and I would never use anything else, yes I know there are other good oils out there but I like to stick to what works, Amsoil.. Only thing be VERY sure you use oil made for your machine,, dont use car synthetics in a motorcycle with a wet clutch, also make sure your engine is properly broken in before you put in synthetic oil or you will never get your rings to seat properly.

I use Yamalube 4 like the manual says. It shifts great, and the oil keeps its light color for a few trips.
