A guy in our ATV group has a 2003 Blaster and it is 100% stock. I noticed it smokes a lot more than any other 2 stroke I have ever worked on. It's enough smoke that he leaves a cloud wherever he rides. I took it for a ride and it is not bogging down or anything... I told him not to worry about it for now... since smoke is better than no smoke.

Does Yamaha run the oil pump really rich or is something wrong?

 

Well mine has a few parts on it and it does not leave a cloud. When I got it it was stock and it did not leave a cloud. IT might be the jetting. Like if you buy a machine 20 miles from where you live and its jetted for where you bought it and went home and the elevation drops a lot it can effect the jetting. Or if its jetted for a certain tempature like 100 degrees than you ride it in a place with the temp beging 20 degrees it will affect it to from what i heard.
