removing airbox lid on yfz450

Default removing airbox lid on yfz450

I want to know if your have to rejet the carb when taking off the airbox lid. I just want to make sure thanx

Yeah, you will. Even if it doesn't run really lean, you still need to rejet to adjust the a/f ratio and get a power gain.

Yes you'll have to rejet or it'll run like $h1t, maybee while your at it pick up a better air filter too (k&n, GYTR)

If it dont have efi I am sure it has to be rejetted.

Default removing airbox lid on yfz450

I removed the lid on my 06, you can feel the power gain just from that, without rejetting. I live in Vegas, about 2200 above sea level, I didnt rejet and bike still runs great. I have an HMF full system on the way, with a UNI filter, then I will have to rejet, anyone recommend any specific jets? Thanks

It may run great, but there is a chance it may run better if you re-jet it.
If you go with a full exhaust system and aftermarket air filter, you will definately want to re-jet.

A good place to start at your altitude would be with a 170 main, 45 pilot, and an 04-05 needle on the 5th to 6th clip position. I don't think the stock needle on the 06's is adjustable, but the stock needle on the 04-05's is.
