big bear oil cooler conversion
#12
I ordered the whole adapter setup on ebay for $50, somebody bought it to run on their warrior, but decided to part it out. It costs over $100 for all new parts from a yamaha dealer, so if you want to save some money order a used set off ebay. You need to buy all the parts or it won't work.
here's a shopping list:
95 Big Bear Oil filter cap (the part the oil lines connect to)
95 Big Bear Adapter (big spacer between engine and cap)
Valve disc thing (not sure what it's called, but it's just a small aluminum disc)
spring
washer
c-clip that holds disc, spring, and washer in place
o-rings for cap and adapter
bolts for big bear
Notes:
-other year and model parts will work, just make sure they look the same/have same part number
-You will need some other parts, but they don't need to be ordered from yamaha. You need the brass nipples that screw into the cap, about 10 feet of oil/transmission fluid hose (same thing, some auto parts stores only have trans hose), some teflon thread tape, hose clamps, and of course the oil radiator. There may be some other things, but that's all I can think of
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions
