Weight, suspension, gearing all in the wolverine's favor. The big bear has high/low range and is more of a utility machine. The wolverine is a single range five speed that is much lighter and has better suspension.

The Big Bear is utility base, geared lower for work, has a lower top speed, suspension travel is about 5 - 6 inches. Wolverine uses a Warrior engine modified for a front driveshaft and autoclutch, it will top out about 55 mph or better, has 7.1 inches of suspension travel, handles a lot more sporty with 23" tires versus the 25" on the Big Bear. A Wolverine can ride the trails more like a sport quad, jumps great, and is easy to mod, pipes, pistons and cams from the Warrior bolt right in. The gearing on the Wolverine is a bit high for hard work and towing, or if you put bigger tires on it without a pipe/filter and jetting to get a little more low end out for mud bogging. The Bear is a great work/trail quad, and the Wolverine is more sport/utility, kind of a jack of all trades, not just focused on one aspect of riding.

Thanks,
A friend of mine has a big bear and we were comparing the differences. They both have 350 motor and single range 5 speed transmission and racks. The only things I noticed was the gear ratio( first gear was extra low) and the reported suspension travel.

You guys must have got a different Big Bear in 96 than us here in Canada. My buddy has a 96 Big Bear SE (red) and it has high and low range.

Hi guys,

I recently blew out my intake manifold on my 95 Big Bear 350 and I was just curious if there was any significant differences between the intake manifolds on the Wolverine 350 motor and the Big Bear 350 motor? and how much the manifolds would run for?

Thanks
and have a safe 4th of July!
