I was wondering,

I heard bone stock old 86 250r quads put out around 45hp, 500cc quadzilla's ? so how do the new bikes compare. Seems to me someone should still be building these BADA$$ machines.

I don't know about pure #'s, but stock for stock the current 450's are faster than the old 250's. While the Quadzilla was an undeniable bad a$$ machine, it was in a mild state of tune from the factory. Stock it was a tad faster than the Banshee, then again, the YFZ is a tad faster than a Banshee also stock to stock. The great thing about those 2 strokes is the greater potential waiting to be unlocked, and you spend less $$ to get that hidden horsepower. I think there are plenty of hot rod quads available today

Where were you racing? On a saw dust track? Out side of a mx track, a yfz sucks a quadzilla's d!ck. End of story.

Here's the numbers I've seen:
Stock LT250R = 35 RWHP
Well built LT250R = 45 RWHP
Trinity built LT500 = 53 RWHP

With numbers like that I'd say todays 4 strokes are very compariable.

lt250r doesn't make 35hp
and i can say that a "well built" 250r can make more than 45hp..

Totally aftermarket, as anyone who has ever owned/ridden one can attest they are female stock. I also believe you have to buy the paired dangly bits first, before you can install any other sort of device.

Thanks for the info. Considering how moody my Raptor is, I always suspected there was a vagina in there somewhere.
