What methods do you guys use to break in your atvs. On my raptor 700 i took it pretty easy on the first tank. Now i am on my second tank and i am starting to drive pretty fast. Is this bad?

 

drive it how you plan on driving it everyday... be sure to vary speeds and wind it out.. i would say take it easy on the first couple hours but after that get the hell on it..

 

I agree. And by the second tank it shoud be ok to get on the throttle more, just use moderation, no extended periods of hard throttle, and no bouncing it off the rev limiter. Also try avoiding extended idling, or running it in too low of a gear ******* it around, that's just as bad as running it too fast.

listen to the guys with the mototune links. i used to break in all my motors easy. and have done several. i recently redid my raptor motor and broke it in to mototune specs. it runs better than it ever has. his method works!!!!!

Don't beat on it till after the first oil change, the engine parts are all buffing and smothing and dumping fine metal into the filter.

 

When should i change the oil the first time? 6 tanks of gas?
