Maintenance - Recommendations??
#1
I do alot of work with my Grizzly 660 ('02) around my small farm that's mainly for hunting. I use it to move logs, and for discing up a food plot (3/4 acre). I use a heavy disc made by Monroe Tufline Disc. Sometimes, my Temp light comes on, thus I stop and let it cool. I have several questions:
1. What can I do to minimum overheating - add ons, etc....?
2. Where can I find out how to change the cooling fluid - AntiFreeze? Can I use off the shelf antifreeze? If not, what?
3. Where can I find out how to change the transmission fluid? What type of trans fluid do I use?
4. Where can I find out how to change the axle fluid? What type of axle fluid?
5. Where can I find out how to change the gear oil? What type of oil?
Some of the above maybe the same thing, but I'm not sure on the terminology.
I've changed the engine oil already, and that oil (Mobile MX4T) was expensive!! Hopefully it's good though!
In advance, Thank you for your guidance and help!!

A Clymer service manual might be a good investment, it will tell you what fluids to use, and how to change them, along with just about everything else you will need to know for maintainance or repairs.
For the overheating, i don't know how much empty space there is on a griz, buy there may be enough room to mount an extra cooling fan on the radiator, or blowing over the head. The problem with doing work like that is you're moving slowly, so not much air is passing over the radiator and engine to cool it down. An extra fan will keep some air moving and hopefully solve the problem, or at least make it better.

You might want to try engine ice in your atv, it is supposed to make your rig run cooler, Also you could disc a row, lap around area, moving fast enough to get plenty of air circulation through radiator. Then diisc another row. I know this situation is not ideal, but it could keep you from overheating the rig.
