Default Used Yamaha Wolverine

I am looking at a 1995 Yamaha Wolverine for my son. I have not seen it in person but have gotten some pices and it looks like it is in very good shape. The price is 2225.00. What do you all think? This is not an on line auction but it will take me over three hours to drive to where it is located

Those yamaha 350 motors are bullet proof. You will be wrenching on all the other stuff though, bearings, seals rebuilding the starter. The price doesnt sound to bad to me.I like the wolverine its a nice lite 4wheel drive quad.It just a little slow in top speed. If you dont care about top speed its a perfect trail quad.

It may be slow compared to some big bores but it will out run the majority of 4x4s out there. Dirt Wheels clocked a 1995 wolverine at 58 mph bone stock. It has plenty of top end speed.

The price sounds pretty good to me.

I know it's a good machine. I have a frind who rides one. It could use a little more power compared to the big bores but I am looking at it form my son. He is still learning and I thought it would be good for him.

I think it will be great for him. The handling is very predictable and stable. He will love it.

Well, a 95 eh? I have to say, they hold up well. Front wheel bearings go about every other year if you pound on it relatively hard, but it's a pretty straight forward repair.

I own a 95 and wouldn't trade my Wolverine for any other machine out there at the present time. It's light, nimble, controllable for a smaller fella and quick - ok, the quick part is due to bore and stroke and a tone of other work. lol.

If he's under 150lbs, this machine will last a long time. To make it more sporty, a Warn 424 will give it a 2wd option.

There isn't anything on my machine that hasn't been apart (I rag on it pretty good and to the maintenance to back it up) so I can answer pert near any mechanical question there is. Let me know if I can help out any further.

I have a 2005 Wolverine and really enjoy it . . . especially since I installed the 4x4 unlocker. This quad is lighter weight (for a 4x4) and sits lower to the ground and due to this is fantastic on tight trails. I follow my husband, who rides the Raptor, and can keep up with him on all of the trails, except when we hit long straight aways, where the extra HP of the Raptor pulls him ahead. And we ride hard and fast 99% of the time. I do not know what the differences are, if any, between the 95 and 05 but if they are similar, it would be hard to go wrong with it. The only thing I am considering doing is adding a pipe, to give it a liitle more horsepower. However, even without a pipe, this little quad scoots! I can ride the Raptor and enjoy it when I do, so I am used to having a clutch too; however, I must admit I enjoy the auto clutch of the Wolverine while trail riding--yet I still have the ability to control it by shifting gears. I'm able to roost it around when it is in 2 wheel drive too . . . almost as well as with the Raptor. Good luck!
