Ya Ya, I agree, you would think Yammi would like to keep things simple, but my theory is they put the CV carbs on to make the thumb throttle easier to operate. The carb warehouse has a set of Kehin FCR 35/37 or 39 mm flat slide, ballbearing, gear driven, rack mounted carbs. The 35's work well with a stock motor, and are good for 6 hp accross the board. Only 1 problem....$750

The floats bottoming out will open the fuel supply to the float bowls.

That's right, and it would cause an over rich condition causing a bog.

My Raptor cuts out when I wheelie it at a very high angle for over 3 seconds. It seems to run out of gas. I called my dealer about the problem and they said it may help to raise the float level or install a 3 psi electric fuel pump to the fuel line since at a high angle the tank is not above the carburetor as before and may be causing the fuel starvation. I called Yamaha about the problem also and they didn't seem to want to admit that it was a problem, but they did mention that there were not any larger aftermarket float bowls available to their knowledge which may help the problem (which they wouldn't admit existed). Confusing, huh?

I know this sounds dumb, but make sure the gas cap's vent hose is not kinked, it will cause some fuel starvation to the carb bowls also check the carb vent hoses they can get pinched also.
