Warrior Performance Questions
#1
I have recently aquired a 2002 warrior and I have a few questions for you guys. It runs great the way it is, but I would like to mod it some. The guy I got it from said he put a supertrapp racing exhaust on it- it has a supertrapp silencer but not sure about header being stock or not. I want to put the most powerful exhaust on it so what do you guys recommend? It also has a K&N filter with a modded airbox. What kind of CDI box should I put on it to help with spark and rev limit? If adjustable, what rev limit do you recommend? I was also looking at cams and I have found Hot cams and Web cams. Which one is the best? If Web Cams, do you recommend the mild or race cam? I will be using this quad for a mixture of trail riding and racing my friends around, but not in competition races. I am also thinking of changing the front sprocket to a 15, what do you recommend on the sprockets and chain? Reason for all this is because I got this dirt cheap from a friend and I figure I might as well make it the best I can and plus, it gives me something to do.
Thanks

Just keep the exhaust that's on it, you can save the money for more effective mods. Same with the cdi, the stock one doesn't have a rev limiter to begin with, so it doesn't do much except modify the timing a little. I'd go with a race webcam, high compression 10.75:1 JE piston, edelbrock carb, clamp on k&n filter kit with no airbox lid, and maybe get the head ported.
What size rear tires do you have? That affects the gearing the same way as the sprockets do.

Well for a CDI I would get a dyna. Just like recon said I would keep the pipe and buy something else that is going to help out in power. I would assume the carb is stock so buying an edelbrock (if that is in your price range) would be a wise choice..
