Default Kodiak 450 vs Wolverine 450

I have a 2004 Bruin 350 4x4 and was thinking about getting a new machine. It's down to the Kodiak 450 or the Wolverine 450. I only trail ride, like to go pretty fast, but no big air for me just small jumps. I need 4wd where I ride. I'm 5'8 and 150#. Both machines get great reviews., but I value your opinion more than the 'zines.

Whaddya think?

I would get the wolverine in your case. They can be used for work and do some extreme fast trail riding

If you preferr sporty riding, then the wolverine with the sra is gonna be a better choice. But if you think you might want a low range, locker front diff or a softer ride, then go kodiak.

I like mudding, but its getting harder to find legal places to do it, so im trying out sport riding,
Do you mean riding at the racetrack? There's lots of sport quads out on the trails where I ride.

I've beem leaning towards the Wolverine even tho some ppl don't like how it looks, but I don't think it'a all that bad. Not as sharp as the Raptors, but not that bad. I don't know much about irs vs sra - does it really make that much of a difference for trail riding? Thanks for your input.

people who want irs are usually rock climbers, mud boggers, and those looking for a plush ride with lots of ground clearance
people who want sra are those who like to slide around turns, hit jumps, and do sport riding type stuff
it doesnt really make a difference when trail riding
i had the same dilemma when i bought my quad, i wanted something "Sporty" yet needed 4wd, thats why i went with the kodiak-its an '03 w/ sra though- i think it was a good choice

i see that you checked out that jockey hill spot...........awesome...........one day i'll go up there LOL 450kodman

Hey Kodman - forgot u had a Kodiak. Thanks for the input.

Yeah - I went back out to Jockey Hill this morning and found where the quads park - it's off Rt. 28. I'll take the Bruin there next week or two now that I know my way around a little better. Pedaling that bike got old quick!
