660r vs piped z400??
#1
hiya, in a drag, with equad weight riders and equal skill, which quad is quickest. a stock raptor vs a piped and jetted z400 [full pipe or slip on] and jetted with k & N air filter? the drag shouldn't be long enough for the raptor to reach full speed. so i suupose what i want to know is which will be fastest accelerating? thanks

My buddy has a '03 Z400 with a full HMF exhaust system, rejetted, K&N air filter and I have a '02 Raptor with a 12 tooth front sprocket (13 is stock). He was a half a length ahead of me until I hit 3rd gear then I took off (nothing special, but I was pulling away at a decent pace). This was my 2nd weekend with the machine if that makes a difference. I outwieghed him by about 10lbs at the time.
I just talked to him and he said he was able to beat quite a few 660s until they reeled him in after a while in 5th gear. From my experience against him I would say it's really close, but from what he says, his is a good bit quicker initially. My Raptor that is stock (except the sprocket) is a TON quieter than his was, if that makes a difference for where you ride...I know it does for me.
